The Department of Biomedical Research at the Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Childre! n in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a full-time Research Assistant II to work in the Motor Neuron Diseases Research Laboratory, part of the Centers for Applied Clinical Genomics and for Pediatric Research, on both internally and externally funded projects that are specifically aimed at understanding motor neuron diseases.

Responsibilities include performing experiments using a range of molecular biological, biochemical and cell biological techniques using cell lines and primary neuronal cultures, as well as animal models; and assisting with the maintenance and operations in the laboratory, including ordering, record-keeping and inventory monitoring.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry or neuroscience-related field and at least one year of job experience. Computer literacy required. Knowledge of research methodology and experience with molecular/biochemical techniques and laboratory animal husbandry are required.
