General Description:
Christiana Care is seeking an RN with recent apheresis experience and knowledge to perform all procedures on blood donors and patients.
Performs arm preps, venipunctures and assesses venous devices on donor and patients.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This requires the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify age-specific patient needs, and to provide the care needed.
Transfuses blood and blood components according to procedure. Monitors patients for complications and adverse effects and responds medically as required.
Administers IV and Chemotherapy medications to patients. Monitors patients for reactions and responds as required. Documents administration of medications as required.
Ambulatory Infusion Center
Hours: vary starting times at 07:! 00, 07:30, and 08:00.
On-call on a rotational basis on wee! kends and holidays, approximately every 6th weekend/holiday.
Requirements: Registered Nurse required. One year of venipuncture and med surg experience required.
Knowledge of basic nursing skills, medication administration procedures, and venipuncture techniques.
Ability to access venous devices and operate equipment.
