To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase expansion to create a children’s hospital like no other in the region. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private, family-centered, technologically advanced patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new expanded Emergency Department.
The PC Technician's role is to support and maintain Nemours-computer systems and peripherals. This includes installing, repairing and maintaining hardware/software and peripheral equipment. This position will receive and respond to incidents including, but not limited to, telephone calls, pages and/or e-mails regarding problems. This role should have some knowledge of unique or uncommon technical systems in the enterprise. This role is required to spend time working with and tutoring Associate PC Technicians.
Install, maintain and repair desktop-related equipment and software (PCs, workstations, peripherals, laptops, printers, PDAs, etc.) used in the enterprise.
Perform desktop-related equipment relocation as assigned.
Coordinate with appropriate vendors to repair warranty items in a timely manner.
Maintain current approved listing of personal computer hardware and software.
Recommend and compile specifications for computer hardware and software.
Perform on-call and downtime desktop rotations as appropriate.
Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation and removal.
Work with all areas of Information Systems to improve processes and communication.
Assist in the development of team goals and actively support them.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
One year of experience.
Associate's degree.
Excellent team collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Able to work with a minimum of supervision.
Excellent customer service skills.
Clear, analytical thinking driving towards problem resolution.
Detail-oriented.
This is a Monday through Friday position, 9am to 5:30pm, with the flexibility to change upon business needs.
