The College of Education is committed to high-quality training for masters and doctoral students in research methodology and statistics. The EDUC sequence is designed to provide an interdisciplinary approach to offering basic to advanced methodology and statistics courses for all graduate students in the college.

Position Summary

The Academic Program Coordinator (APC) will provide support to COE academic programs, including EDUC course scheduling and College of Education (COE) priority scheduling. This position serves as part of the student support team that is responsible for student academic processes and records, including the admissions process and departmental course scheduling. This position develops and maintains procedures and systems to ensure efficient workflow and service delivery related to student, faculty, and curriculum support. The APC is responsible for coordinating services, operational support, and communication to students and faculty, including tracking, scheduling, and compliance with policy.

The APC regularly interprets and communicates program, operational, and institutional policies, procedures, and rules. The program faculty consult with and rely on this position’s expertise, knowledge, judgments, and recommendations regarding program operations and areas for improvement. Information that the APC disseminates to students and faculty could impact admissions, degree completion or accreditation.

This position reports to the College of Education Academic Business Manager with additional direction from the academic program directors of the programs the position supports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents; and
  • Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to be proactive and anticipate needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with the application of policies and procedures, preferably in a higher education context.
  • Experience using Courseleaf, GradWeb, Slate, CLSS, and Banner.
