Bosch Tilburg is part of the Bosch Group, a leading global supplier of technology and services, with roughly 395,000 associates worldwide. Bosch is the number one supplier in the automotive industry worldwide and is investing heavily in electrification and fuel cell technologies.
The Engineering, Design & Product department is responsible for the product portfolio.
Core tasks of our engineers:
- Support in the acquisition and development of new products and technologies;
- Engineering and optimization of current applications and products;
Currently, we are looking for an intern (working student or thesis student) available from September fo with a study like Mechanical, Automotive or similar.
The main goal of the project is to participate in advanced material characterization and performance prediction. Nowadays, the development time for new materials and applications should be drastically reduced as a result of many uncertainties within the automotive market, especially regarding the electrification topics concerning many OEM’s. Therefore, there is a need for more quick and advanced tools and methods in order to speed up research and development to comply with this demand.
In recent years, many fields of engineering discovered (and some even successfully adopted) machine learning approaches. Advanced image processing, data analysis and even modeling are just a few examples of the possibility machine learning can bring. This project will focus on extending our “classical” way of gathering and interpreting data with the possibility of machine learning algorithms.
Examples of core internship activities:
- Develop substitute AI models to replace detailed, complex and often slow models to get as much information as quickly as possible;
- Develop efficient data pipelines and preliminary analysis to get access to relevant (big) data for in-depth analysis;
- Develop and integrate AI techniques in measurement methods.
The tasks involved in this project will be to generate, process and/or analyze data, with the possibility to apply (and even extend) the most recent models, measurements and data analysis tools.
