To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase exp! ansion to create a childrenâs hospital like no other in the ! region. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new expanded Emergency Department.
The Workplace Investigator is responsible for protecting Nemours by a) accurately, impartially and effectively investigating reports of actual or suspected employee misconduct; b) assisting Nemours in using the investigation of allegations as opportunities to identify process failure and other areas of business risk; and c) advising the Chief Compliance Officer and other relevant parties as to the facts of the particular situation and the risks associated with it.
Through consistent adherence to investigative protocols that are built on the principles of objective and impartial fact-finding, fundamental fairness and a respect for the rights of all parties involved, the Workplace Investigator helps protect Nemoursâ business interests and the rights of its employees. The Workplace Investigator i! s accountable for conducting a professional, successful and proficient investigation and for clearly articulating and reporting their outcomes to the appropriate parties.
The Workplace Investigator receives investigation requests from a variety of sources, including the Human Resources Department, the Compliance and Ethics Department, the Legal Department and Management. The Workplace Investigator must determine the proper level and scope of investigation based on the subject matter and issue complexity involved; define the general approach and strategy; and adhere to an investigation timetable that is sensitive to operational needs, employee rights and the need for accurate, thorough investigations.
Conducts complete, objective fact findings and review that are not tainted by personal or organizational agendas.
The Workplace Investigator must investigate allegations in a timely, impartial, confidential and thorough manner and, as a matter of cour! se, makes judgments regarding credibility and reasonableness.
! The Workplace Investigator must be sensitive to and alert to any signs of retaliatory behavior in the course of the investigation or subsequent to the investigation.
The Workplace Investigator is responsible for making constructive suggestions for actions by the responsible managers; where systemic problems or program weaknesses are identified, he/she may make recommended corrective actions.
Require education at the advanced or post-graduate level, but no SPECIFIC educational focus. Most important is the combination of outstanding critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
At least 5+ years experience that can include a combination of any of the following: management experience, legal, HR and/or compliance experience. Strongly prefer candidate who has completed or will complete within 3 months of date of hire investigative training through Association of Workplace Investigators.
