This position may be located in either Nemours - Newark, Delaware or Washington, DC office .

The Technical Trai! ner position resides within Nemours' National Office of Policy! and Prevention. This is a grant-funded position funded yearly, for up to five years. Nemours and the American Heart Association (AHA) are collaborating to implement a national child care technical assistance program that will provide hands-on support, technical assistance and training to child care centers in targeted communities who serve children ages 0-5

The Technical Trainer will be responsible for developing and maintaining evidence-based, best-practice training materials and resources for the program staff and for use by participating child care centers. The Technical Trainer will be responsible for the training and technical development of Child Care Specialist staff, assisting with the developing strategic processes for recruiting child care centers into the program, providing consulting for marketing the program to child care providers, and establishing processes and protocols for assisting Child Care Specialist staff in providing hands-on technical assis! tance to child care centers to help them implement changes in the areas of nutrition and physical activity.

The Technical Trainer will be responsible for:
Acting as the key contact for 6-10 Child Care Specialists across the country and ensuring that information is shared according to developed feedback loops.

Providing technical assistance to Child Care Specialists, including telephonic and Web-based, utilizing effective coaching and consulting techniques to maximize effectiveness and impact.

Analyzing existing materials from various sources to inform the development of program materials/resources, including documents, resources and workshops related to nutrition, physical activity, screen time and infant feeding.

Developing program technical assistance resources.

Supporting the development and delivery of training to project staff.

Assisting with strategies and work plan development for center recruitment and! support.

Working with project team from AHA and Nemours and s! ubcontractors to improve overall project implementation and support evaluation activities.

Providing content expertise as needed related to the areas of: child care wellness policies, quality improvement, nutrition (food and beverage), infant feeding, physical activity and screen time recommendations and standards for children ages 0-5.

Participation in regular project team meetings (including virtually).

Other duties as needed.

Requirements

Master's degree in education, public health, community health, child behavioral health, child psychology or related field.

3 to 5 years experience in training is essential.

Background in education, public health and/or early care and education (ECE) (required) .

Experience providing technical assistance (required); technical assistance related to healthy environments (nutrition, physical activity, screen time, infant feeding) for young children preferred.
