This position is every weekend Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Sa! turday and Sunday 8am-8pm.

To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked! on a multi-phase expansion to create a children’s hospital ! like no other in the region. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and a new expanded Emergency Department.
The Emergency Department (ED) of the Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children (N/AIDHC) is an American College of Surgeons (ACS) designated Level II Trauma Center which provides services on a 24 hour basis caring for patients presenting with a variety of illness and injuries. Patients are admitted to the ED without regard to race, religion, place of national origin, or ability to pay. The average monthly census is approximately 4375 patients.
The ED is located on the first floor of the facility providing access to both ambulatory and non-ambulatory/ambulance patients. The department is comprised of a total of 29 patient care rooms. In addition to the triage area, there are 17 monitored emergency treatment rooms, 6 non-monitored beds, and an additional 6 bed ED Observation ! Unit. Patients admitted to ED Observation have acute, self-limited illnesses that may require less than 24 hours to resolve. The unit is not intended for transfers from outside hospitals not seen in our ED or direct admissions from community offices. No patient who is seriously ill, unstable, or awaiting transfer to PICU will be moved to ED Observation
