Upon ! completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and a new expanded Emergency Department. Nemours is seeking an Associate Analyst to support the Ambulatory clinics in the use of the Epic application. This position is part of a growing and dynamic Health informatics department located in Orlando, Florida. Job Description This position is an intermediate level analyst position responsible for acquiring knowledge of EPIC Ambulatory configurations and assessing impacts to clinical process workflow.
Collect, interpret, and document specifications required to develop new and revise existing software applications. Develop and implement operational plans for new and existing specialties. This individual will work independently in completing project task and executing the following tasks as part of a clinical systems implementation: building system components, testing, documentation of workflows and other project! information. They will also assist in integration of existing ambulatory Epic orders with new implementation for inpatient ordering.
This position requires the ability to independently interact with physicians, clinical staff, and\or business operational leadership; demonstrate critical thinking and follow through when developing solutions to identified issues. 1. Successfully achieve Epic certification in primary application (Epic Ambulatory). 2.
Demonstrates the ability to collect workflow and other pertinent information from clients. 3. Develop current and future state workflows of clinical practices in Visio. 4.
Populate designated databases during the system build. 5. Troubleshoot problems or questions from users. 6.
Prioritize and implement changes requested for the system. 7. Thoroughly review and test each new release and communicate changes to Epic before users are permitted to access the new release. 8.
Apply in depth ! system understanding to current issues and design challenges in order t! o develop alternative solutions with pro and con analysis. 9. Demonstrates professional behavior when interacting with clients and coworkers. 10.
Demonstrate ability to understand not only tasks assigned but to anticipate ongoing work and take ownership of entire process. 11. Coordinate changes and present, utilizing the Nemours Epic Change Control process 12. Knowledge of healthcare operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of information system applications in the practicing healthcare environment 13.
Thorough understanding of hospital inpatient, clinic outpatient operations, and/or financial software along with understanding of the technical environment of product lines for which they are responsible 14. Self motivated, self-directed and independent thinking as well as an effective team player Additional Requirements Previous Epic experience or Epic Inpatient Procedure Orders\Radiant certification preferred!
