Advantage Locums has a client two hours East of DC seeking Emergency Medicine ongoing coverage beginnin! g upon credentialing.
Emergency Department: 39,000 Volume within a 230 bed hospital. The Hospitals newly opened (2012) state of-the-art Emergency and Trauma Services Dept. is 35,000 sq. ft. with room for up to 40 private treatment rooms. This Level III Trauma Center is three times larger than their previous E.D. with nearly double the treatment bays. These bays, or rooms, are grouped into four pods, each one with a central clinical staffing station. In-room computers make it possible for records and registration to be completed bedside. Three large trauma rooms are designated for life threatening emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, or trauma.
The new E.D. provides comprehensive diagnostic services including 64 slice CT scan and digital X-ray. A heliport on the roof provides access for helicopters transporting trauma patients. A Fast Track is open seven days a week and is staffed with qualified physician assistants. The patients seen are mostly medicin! e-related with approximately 15% being pediatrics and 15% majo! r and minor trauma.
Coverage: 54 hours of physician coverage, 12 hour shifts - both days and nights are available
Ancillary support is available 24 hrs a day
Qualifications : Board-Certified EM or IM or FP Physicians with previous ED experience. ACLS, PALS, ATLS are also required if not ABEM.
