General Description:PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To perform technically satisfactory electroencephalograms and evoked po! tentials of all types; performs clerical duties as needed.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Records EEG and Evoked Potential studies according to established procedures. Recognizes artifacts and takes appropriate steps to eliminate them. Observes patient during recording and makes proper notations. Uses appropriate activation procedures. Monitors other physiological parameters as required.
Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and to provide the care needed.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients ! and visitors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One year's experience performing EEGs and evoked potential testing is mandatory.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
ABRET or ABRET eligible required; Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Experience with Long Term Monitoring preferred.
