To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase expansion to cre! ate a children’s hospital like no other in the region. Upon ! completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private, family-centered, technologically advanced patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new expanded Emergency Department.
This position is responsible for consulting on development and implementation of strategic Nemours Associate communications programs; working as part of a proactive marketing and communications team to strengthen Associate understanding of and support for the organization's vision, mission and values; advising and counseling Nemours leaders on communications issues and opportunities; supporting the development of effective two-way communication throughout the enterprise; and collaborating with the Marketing & Communications team to integrate the development of strategic marketing, communications, public relations and community engagement efforts across the Nemours children's health system.
Essential Functions
Writing and consultative management of all aspec! ts of Nemours Associate communications programs.
Consulting with Nemours leadership on the development and implementation of communications strategies, plans and programs. Developing and implementing strategies for communications regarding strategic business decisions.
Providing direction to Nemours Web team for proactive development of the company's internal electronic communications channel.
Non-Essential Functions
Maintaining current knowledge of health care issues.
Developing highly successful working relationships within Nemours and the community.
Consultative involvement in Nemours-wide marketing and communications initiatives.
Leading and managing continuous improvement of Nemours communications capabilities.
Personal and professional growth and development.
The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field and more than 5 years of related work expe! rience. This is a 1099 contract position throughout the balance of 2013! .
Additional Qualifications
Health-related educational and professional experience desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively with others, bringing a proven record of accomplishment as a professional communicator to the Nemours Marketing & Communications team.
Superior writing and planning skills.
Superior listening and consultative skills and eagerness to learn and contribute to positive organizational change.
Business communications experience in an agency or corporate setting.
