Speech Therapist

Assesses assigned students; develops IEP or IFSP for those requiring direct or consultative services. Plans, initiates, and periodically re-assesses the effectiveness of program and services. Provides direct service to students and consultative services to educational staff/ parents. Advises, instructs, and assists educational staff in carrying out Speech plans within the school environment. Occasionally assists in facilitating the procurement of, fabricates, modifies, or adjusts adaptive equipment needed for the physical management plan. Communicates with parents and educational/school therapy staff on a regular basis through telephone calls, meetings, or in writing. Keeps an ongoing log of all visits with program objectives and progress; maintains paperwork according to guidelines and adheres to timelines. Coordinates student’s program with other therapists and educational staff for the purpose of achieving uniformity of goals. Refers questions that should be addressed by physician/primary medical facility regarding student’s medical needs to coordinator/supervisor for follow-up. Performs/writes annual/re-evaluation reviews prior to review date; other reviews are prepared as needed and submitted to IEP manager in time for meetings.
Private Practice Services
Coordination of all services including, but not limited to, speech therapy evaluations, treatment and consultation.
Requirements
Minimum of Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy and Maryland State Board of Speech Therapy license. Experience with the pediatric population preferred. Must possess strong organizational skills and have ability to travel between sights and provide services at multiple locations in a workday.
Speech therapy position providing school-based, early intervention and private practice services in the Baltimore and surrounding areas. Speech Therapist would be joining a multi-disciplinary practice. Supervision is provided by experienced Speech Therapists.
