To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase expansion to create a children's hospital like no other ! in the region. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will! include private patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and a new expanded Emergency Department.
This position is responsible for the overall development, management, coordination and execution of all off-site ambulatory/satellite construction and major renovation projects for Nemours Delaware Valley operations. Supports the strategy of Nemours True North to extend its' market reach and brand and reflects the increasing extension of off-site ambulatory and physician practices into the community.
II. Essential Functions -
1. Translation of feasibility and market studies into a project vision and program.
2. Ensuring that the projects reflect Nemours True North, vision, strategies, brand, model of care, quality/safety goals and commitment to patient/family centered care.
3. Ensure integration of Continuous Improvement principles in the project development process. Facilitate the Integrated Facility Design process on ea! ch project.
4. Ensure project workflows, systems and processes are developed and documented using Continuous Improvement techniques (reliable methods, standard work, daily management system) to ensure maximum operating effectiveness and efficiency.
5. Fully integrate families and children in the project visioning, design, planning and execution of the projects.
6. Development, implementation and oversight of an appropriate project management structure that may include steering committees, project management teams and user groups.
7. Ensure development of project capital and operating budgets, staffing plans and financial pro forma.
8. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
9. Using Nemours True North as a guide, develop 2 - 3 high level goals and metrics that guide the decision making process throughout project and measure the success post-opening.
10. Collaboration and coordination with Constr! uction Managers, Architects, Real Estate advisors consultants, site man! agement, partner institutions and all other internal and external project stakeholders.
11. Ensure timely and accurate submission of all regulatory, accreditation and licensure documents that are required for the projects.
12. Report project status regularly to appropriate Nemours leadership, philanthropic and community stakeholders.
13. Successfully transition completed projects to site management.

14. Regular attendance is required.
15. Good communication skills are required.
- Master's Degree Required
- Experience and commitment to the principals and methodologies of Lean management systems in healthcare settings.
- Highly developed presentation skills.
- Strong behavioral and organization skills.
- Minimum seven to ten years management experience in complex health care operations, including significant experience in develo! pment and management of ambulatory services including flows of healthcare (patient, information, etc).
- Significant experience in medium to large scale healthcare construction and renovation projects.
- Clinical background preferred.
