To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase expansion to create a children's hospital like no other in the region. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private, family-centered, technologically advanced patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and a new expanded Emergency Department.
This position is responsible for: Managing the operations of the Pastoral Care Department, overseeing and supervising the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program including maintenance of standards for accreditation, and developing additional programs to assist patients, families and staff. Providing direct Pastoral Care services to all patients and staff of the hospital as needed to complement the work of other Pastoral Care staff.
1. Manage the daily operations of the Pastoral Care department.
2. Maintain Pastoral Care Policies and Procedures.
3. Provide Spiritual comfort to patients and families by visiting patients on a regular basis offering pastoral counseling, religious rituals, and referrals to community religious resources as requested.
4. Coordinate all aspects of CPE program and supervise CPE interns and residents.
5. Maintain College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP) accreditation for CPE program.
6. Provide spiritual support to all clinical providers in the hospital.
7. Manage resources in the department.
8. Serve as an active member of medical teams.
9. Be a member of the hospital Ethics Committee and participate in ethical consults as requested.
11. Arrange or provide regular ecumenical services in the chapel. 1. Masters level degree in Divinity, Pastoral Counseling, or other appropriate discipline.
2. A minimum of four units of CPE training in an accredited program.
3. Certified by a National Pastoral Care Association.
