To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase expansion to create a children's hos! pital like no other in the region. Upon completion in June 201! 4, the hospital will include private patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new expanded Emergency Department.

Manages the pharmacy-based drug distribution services in order to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care. Accountable for staff, services provided and level of performance within assigned areas. Directs day-to-day operations (24/7), delegating responsibility and authority for providing services, continuously improving services to meet customer needs, ensuring adequate resources are available, and integrating services with other professional services within and outside the hospital to ensure continuity of care.

Also provides age- and developmentally appropriate care to infants, children, adolescents and adults.

Supervises the day-to-day drug distribution system, evaluates alternatives and follows up on issues and concerns.

Enforces policies and procedures that promote cost-effective, appropriate and safe medic! ation use.

Recommends and participates in the development and implementation of programs that improve the quality improvement plan of Nemours.

Responsible for ensuring strict control and accountability for medications dispensed to patients or distributed to floor stock.

Actively contributes to the planning for and achievement of annual departmental objectives by coordinating assigned objectives and assisting in the accomplishment of others. Develops new and improved services within assigned area through constant evaluation and innovation.

Coordinates orientations and educational in-service programs for the Pharmacy staff and resident on the appropriate utilization of Pharmacy Services.

Recruits, trains, develops, schedules and supervises assigned staff; develops performance standards; conducts performance appraisal; and recommends salary increases consistent with Nemours/AIDHC policy and procedures.

Coordinates departmen! t-wide special projects as assigned.

Establishes productive, c! ollaborative relationships with staff members and associated departmental services.

Serves in hospital committees as assigned and performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Requirements

BS Pharmacy, PharmD or Master's degree.

5 or more years of Hospital Pharmacy experience and 1 year supervisory experience.

Delaware license or DE Pharmacy license-eligible.

Unit dose training, IV and TPN experience.

Oncology and dialysis experience.

General pediatric experience.
